• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello everyone.

My name is Matias, I'm a C# developer and I wanted to ask for some help regarding this subject.

Actually, what I want to do is to show a WPF window that is compiled as a dll.
I don't have any experience with C++, but I managed to create the menus I need using the SDK examples.
I've been reading a lot of threads here and in other forums, I also tried the example that is in the Avsim library (Don't remember de author right now..) but it is for FS2004, and while i might work with FSX, it isn't working with Prepar3D.

I would like to ask you guys, is anyone could share an example or link to an example, on how to do this.
I will also accept an example on how to show a Winform window if a WPF window it is too complicated.

Thanks so much.

So far all I've been doing is a message box, so I am afraid I can't give you an example.

As I understand, you spawn a window as usual and give it a handle of FS98 (IIRC) window as parent

That's what I've been reading. The thing is, it seems that handle doesn't work anymore in Prepar3D, or at least I couldn't make it work.

True, I never considered that. Have you tried contacting LM? Maybe they could bring some light into this.
