Simconnect and vb.net

Hi,

I want to write a simple program for fsx that you can see your position, altitude and your landing rate.
Now I am quite new with the Simconnect options. I work with vb.net in VS2012. I looked at the sample, and I understand somethings. But I don't know how to "read" the tutorial. For example, the SimConnect_AddToDataDefinition. I have to use it in VS. Could someone explain that?

I am not sure you can use vb.net with SimConnect... either case SDK samples only contain C++ and some limited C# code.

According to the SDK you can

...if the managed API calls are being used, any .NET language such as C#.net or VB.net.

The SDK has a section dealing with managed code and a managed VB Data Request sample.

Having said that, I've no idea how. I only use C++ and also avoid managed applications.

Yes okay, but C++ is for me more difficult. And also I want a program with user interface. And maybe I have to learn C# if you can more with that and simconnect.
But what I don't understand is, you see a lot of things with code in the manual. But I have no idea what what is. Okay, I now know how to make how I can connect with a button to FSX, but not more than that. I and I see no where some tutorial how to use al those simconnect "rules" code.

ah thank you. This is a lot better. Okay it's not simconnect but FsUIPC. But oke, FSUIPC is also great!
