• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I would again like to ask if we can add a totally separate section dedicated to AI issues. Air, Land, Sea, etc... Sections on how to make flight plans, how to edit cfg files for AI, how to set up airports for AI, etc...

I see AI questions in several areas and would love to have them all in one place.

Maybe others think the same...

Hi Greg,

I have been thinking about that before, sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe we can indeed combine AI and the FSX LivingWorld features in one forum.

If others have suggestions let me know and else I will make a new forum soon.

OK, flu kept me busy the last days, but I am up and running again. I try to add the forum this week.

The new forum has been added. I will try to move the related topics to there as well (I probably won't find them all).

Hi Folks

Arno -
Cheers for adding the Living world & AI forum.

Any chance of relocating it please, :D
either to -
- FSDeveloper Community - Development - Other - Living world & AI
or
- FSDeveloper Community - Development - Living world & AI

As it's definitely not a Scenery design related topic ?

Many thanks
Paul

Hi Paul,

Humm, maybe. I guess we need to define the scope more clear than, since a lot of AI related issues are in the BGLComp XML file and for the traffic on roads for example it is related with terrain design. You are right other parts, like ship traffic or the AI routes, are not scenery design. But we need to be clear which belongs where, else it becomes more confusing.

make a symlink "Development > aircraft design > AI" pointing to the actual forum in the scenery section. Like for the "effects" forum. Just a thought...

Cheers

Hi,

For the moment I moved it under development. But I think we should still think about the focus. Which questions go in the AI forum and which ones in the BGLComp XML one for example? And does making an AI model go into Aircraft design or in AI?

My own thoughts... And this is from a user/reader point of view, since I don't design models...

I think AI needs its own section. ALL AI, all the time. :)

AI flight planning
AI modelling
AI cfg tweaking
AI Living World (people/animals)
AI tips/tricks/how-to's/tutorials
etc...

Yes, some would fit in other areas...but why not just put ALL AI in it's own little home. This would be a great repository for that knowledge. No more looking in many areas to find info about AI. One stop shop.

Just my thoughts...

Hi Greg,

My concern with that is that we get for example modelling discussions in multiple places, both in the AI and Aircraft design forum. So then the AI is in one place, but that other subject no longer :).

Maybe we should just see how the current setup works.

Having been there, I can tell you are getting close to wedding day. LMAO!!!!!!

I had to read these a few times I make sure I was reading them correctly.. This is exactly like the district manager of the restaurant I manage last night... He said in less than 2 minutes apart:

"I know the chart calls for this many, but you need to double that amount. Give them double from now on."

"You guys have got to watch the amounts you are using. You are using too much and the food cost is much to high."

I was standing there with my mouth agape just thinking...um....are you serious???? LOL

I just let it go..never commented on it, but everyone heard him say the same thing....

So, just to be clear...you want ideas...but we are not to give you ideas. ;)

hehe

ps: hope this made you laugh...cause it made me
