Sketchup textures after DAE export ?

I have created a simple model in SketchUp 8 with 5 attached png textures to this model. It looks fine in SketchUp, but when exporting to DAE i only get 4 out of 5 textures in the new folder.
I have tried placing all textures in same layer before export, but the result is still the same.

Can anyone explain why?

Thanks
Michael

Hi,

Are you sure that all 5 are used in your model? Only the textures actually applied will be saved to the texture folder.

Hi Arno,

I can see that they are all applied to the model in SU.
The model, a helipad actually, consists of five 'squares' each with its own texture.

If i try to add the one texture missing then one of the other textures are left out...and still only four textures. Really odd.

Thanks
Michael

If I reduce the number of textures to four and then export to DAE, then only three textures are exported

Thanks
Michael

Hi,

Very weird. I have not seen this problem before.

I assume that when you import the DAE again into SketchUp some parts are missing their texture?

Hi Arno,

I have tried importing to Model Converter X and that was how I discovered the missing texture, but I will try also importing to SU.

I should perhaps add that all textures in SU are applied as images to my model. I created a quick test model, just a square really, applied a single image and exported as DAE. No textures were exported.

I am sure I am doing something wrong in SU, but not sure what yet.

Thanks
Michael

Ok, the problem seems to relate to transparent png textures only, which I had used for this model.

But what causes this I dont know.

Thanks
Michael

Hi,

Normally when you mix textures with transparency you will see that SketchUp exports the ones without transparency as JPG files and the ones with transparency as PNG files. But it should export all of them.

Could it be that you have a texture0.jpg and a texture0.png?
