• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Skewed Texture

Posted this in another thread but it's better off here. I hope this is a simple fix and I'm the dummy.

There is a texture mapping issue on one part of my hangar. It's skewed. I've tried to apply the texture in polygon mode (Where you move the point around on the texture) as well as simply using the usual Part Texture method.

The rest of the textures applied fine, so I'm lost again as to what is causing this.

Thanks!

Try to use the Part (F5) mode and chose a square area on the texture. Do you check if your part is pointing outside?

Didn't think that the "ends" would have to be separate parts. So I made each end polygon their own part and deleted the pre-existing polygons.

I also textured them via the part mode as jpfil suggested.

Can't explain this result..

It appeared correct in FSDS and the part axis was positioned normally.

Can you post a screen shot of your texture application dialog/screen? It almost looks like you may have inadvertently pressed "invert y"

I thought the same thing, inverted Y. That wasn't the case, however, and it shows up correctly in FSDS.

Sometimes I wonder if these programs throw such problems at you just to make the designing difficult. :D

I'm still at a loss ... usually when I have weird problems like that it's because of improper alignment, a polygon selected when applying the texture to the part.... etc.

Would it be a problem to send me the fsc of that building and associated texture(s)?
