• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX SODE CTD

Hi all

First off, Jeff, thanks for making what is looking to be a fantastic solution to FS2004 ASM tweaking!

I am running into one issue though. When SODE is loaded, if I switch windows from FSX to say ADE or Adobe etc, FSX will crash on combase.dll. This seems to happen randomly and with any xml in use, including the demo supplied. To test if it was FSX and new anti-virus (NOD32) I disabled both AV and SODE and didn't appear to get the issue. I've re-enabled SODE only and started getting the issue.

I've read that an Airbus A318/319 can cause this crash too but I've not got any Airbus addons installed.

Has anyone seen this before and is it related to SODE or the AV? It didn't happen before SODE and AV was installed (both went on at roughly the same time).

Many thanks in advance
Will

Ok, thought so just by "google-research"...
I'm still running Win7, so I can't really reproduce that particular fault. Also, I don't know what component of the code would call something from that dll, as it doesn't exist under Win7. For now, I can't see a solution, but I will research further. Apparently, lots of other add-ons cause that crash in conjunction with running FSX on Win8.

Hmm ok for now I'll just keep re-running. I might also try running it under compatibility. It's odd though, I've not had it at all today. I think though it seems to happen when I've closed and re-opened FSX lots of times to test out different positions of model placement through SODE. Thanks for your help.
