• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I don't find Sode Placer on 12bpilot site.
And search on internet don't propose alternatives sites :(
Any one know where I could search ?

Yes and I have the version 1.8 where there there are no placer nor guide...
Do you think I should install the version 1.7 ?
But I fear about possible side effect...

Humm, don't know, haven't used SODE for a long time. But if 1.8 is only an update you might need to take the additional tools from the previous version.
 
We must distinguish here between SODE (latest version 1.80) and SODE-Plaser (latest version 0.7).

SODE is required for displaying objects and animations (which have been created specifically for this purpose) in the simulator.

SODE-Placer is required for placing specially created and animated passenger boarding bridges at parking positions.

I'll take a look for working links when I get back to a "real computer" (I am on a mobile phone browser until later this afternoon).

If we cannot currently access the SODE downloads via Wayback Machine, since the versions last posted are not all that recent, I probably already have the files, and could post them for download via links to a online server like MediaFire.

PS: SODE Placer is for SODE-related scenery operations, and should not be regarded as used for general object placement.

For that one may use the original (free) WhisPlacer by Lamont Clark (aka "lc0277").

Note that one must have SimConnect installed from the SDK for each FSX / P3D version one wants WhisPlacer to be able to work with. :pushpin:

I was able to find SODE v1.8.0 but i get this when trying to register.

My guess is that's the only error message it can throw because the site is not available. It's probably not actually telling the truth.
