• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi Russel,

Here I am again.I installed the new 26 version but still no cigar. This is what I did.
I uninstalled previous version including clwaning up yhe registry sinse the uninstaller leave behind those reg entrie. Then I installed version 26 which started at end of setup..But as you know I have to close it and then rerun it as administrator to make those folder path changes stick. Then I closed the prog.
Now I can do 2 things :run it normally or as an administrator.
If I run planner normaly it starts running.I can open any aiport. The update check feature starts checking for up dates when clicked but keeps checking forever so I have to cloe it.The connedtion to FSX gives an error message : no simconnect ports found open.Make sure FSX is running. So I have to close that too manually.Third prob because planner is now running normaly and not as an administrator I can't close the planner as by the task manager.
If I run the planner as administrator it starts running..I can open any airport.
The update feature now gives anerror meddage :Unable to connect to FXPlanner server.Try again later.
The connect toFSX: FSX running I clik the connect button which looks like it starts something but nothing happens. It keeps stating in red disconnected.

So I think the planner isn't realy ready yet for VISTA and its dum security issues. There prob gonna need more before it'll run smoothly under VISTA.Until then its too much hassel.Guess I'll have to stick to other prog[not willingly believe me cause it's a gr8 prog}.
Anyway I hope a working solution will come up soon.

Regards...Marc:confused:

Hmm, this is puzzling. I have successfully tested all FSX Planner features under Vista. Perhaps there are just many different types of security measures within Vista, some of which I don't have turned on, but perhaps you do, which are causing problems.

When you click the Connect to FSX button, do you have the local connection option selected, and the Specify port option NOT ticked? If so what happens if you run the following command in an elevated command prompt window: 'netstat -b' (without quotes).

Hi Russel,

Here is a print screen of netstat -b
Hope this helps.

That helps a lot!

A couple of things I notice. First, do you still have the SimConnect.xml file installed in FSX, or is this a default FSX port?

Second, I need to update some code as I can tell by looking at this screen why the auto detect would fail.

Hi Russel,

No xml file put in The dedicated FSX folder. And yes I think its a default one but don't shoot me if it isn't.:rotfl:
