• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Stuck on compile

Sorry for the recent outbreak of posts I've been making, but I can't seem to make anything work right with FSX.

After converting my Shape files to KML, I attempted to then name them as shorelines with FSX KML and compile them to BGL with that program.

Everything appears correct in the Project tab:



But on compile it freezes at the following message for a good 20 minutes:
"Processing HLXSHORE_KML.shp"

Eventually I get this error, and no BGL produced:

Processing HLXSHORE_KML.shp

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
The system cannot find the file specified.
Press any key to continue . . .


Any ideas on what's happening now? This is the third idea I've tried for doing shorelines, and once again I hit an obstacle.

That list of points in the screen shot looks pretty weird. Why so many zero's?

What does it look like in Google Earth?

I'm not sure why there are that many 0's. It may have been caused by the conversion from .SHP to .KML.

It looks normal in Google Earth as far as I can tell:



Then I tried it with the version 1.10 and still encountered that problem.

I'll have to start fresh with a new .SHP file and see if those zeroes can be eliminated.
 
Fixed!

I'm not exactly sure what did it, but I was able to compile it this time.
