• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

What do you think,guys?
I will start the VC modeling.
Not texturing....I am not good in photoshop:( still a lot to learn

Thinking about texturing workflow.
I have the LP model.
Do I need to make HP one to use for baking? This will give me a lot more details in my model.
Can I use Substance deisgner to make textures that will work in FS?
Answer to this will help me to plan my VC workflow as well.

I think this workflow should work.

If I were you, I'd try some textures already. Start off with plain maps with only panellines and rivets. Then add some colors. But you should it do it the way you feel comfortable.

Sir, the model is very nice! Those sleek Flanker lines..

Determin to try the workflow
Here is high poly, the base for the low poly ADI

Also, you don't seem to have any smoothing groups according to the normal. Try hitting the whole thing with a reset XForm and remap.

I did x-form also assigned smoothing groups and this is the result. Now I am changing topology with no triangles, but quadrature polys. Just wondering, the front panel high poly is done with separate parts, but low poly is a solid object including turning knobs..is it right?
anyway I am walking ;)

In what format where the objects when you rendered the normal? Editable Mesh or Poly? With or without a stack?

I think I find the problem. Did a small part(knob) first with cage(same problem of overlapping) without a cage came smooth...I am lost in translation, and so many tutorials, but keep walking..

Will you create an export (read English) style cockpit? Since many of us don't speak or understand Russian

In reality there aren't export version of Su-34, but I am aware of language issue. Not every one is understanding Cyrillic Alphabet. Could be in India variant, but still

but still my personal opinion is that there MUST be English(prime)variant

Great to hear! I guess I mixed up the Su-34 and Su-27 in terms of export variants
