• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX Sudden blur! Memory problem?

I'm putting this here because I build my scenery with FSDS, so that would be the problem perhaps.

Working on my NC Airport series.... check the map, there are three airports in close proximity to one another, KVUJ Stanly County, 43A Montgomery County, and KHBI Asheboro Regional.

ONE of these airports, i'm not sure which, causes all of the textures, both in the scenery and in the virtual cockpit to go blurry when I fly close to them. There is also a slight loss in frame rates, but it's mostly the texture resolution takes a nosedive. As soon as I head away from this area, it all goes back to normal.

What could be causing this? Is one of my sceneries causing a memory leak or something?

Depending on how you install these sceneries perhaps you can deactivate them one at a time to see which one if any are causing the problem.

If installed separately you can activate or deactivate them one at a time in the scenery library

I have had the same exact problem when I was developing my scenery (Kish Island 2004).Then one of our user reported that the problem is caused by an 8bit texture.Removing that texture fixed the problem.

I think it may be both Stanly and Asheboro... 8 bit texture, how would I know where that is? I think I've sifted through all of them. Someone somewhere said things like this could be caused by a missing texture, but how then would I know which is missing?

Done! I fixed it. Some night textures were in the wrong format. I would've known that if I ever flew at night... which is rare, but it happens :D
