Hi Arno,
Something I've always wanted to do with FS is attach navigation lights to the default boats.
The problem in doing that is it would break the EULA if I were to re-compile the boats and distribute the fixed BGL.
I can think of a lot of applications where having a tool that could inject attach points for FX into scenery BGL's and even MDL's would be helpful.
So basically what would happen is a developer could figure out the XYZ point co-ordinates where they want to attach an effect, and then they can distribute the metadata only maybe alongside an opensource injector.exe that then can inject those attach points into a user's BGL/MDL.
I might do some tests with my default FSX boats and see if I can add the nav lights and see how it looks in sim.
A tool like that could also really help with adding red building height lights (forgive me I need more sleep at this point).
Would that be something others would also find useful?
Dean.
