• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,

I have a little problem with gmax. I designed a part of a tube as shown below. I divided the segments on each side, but unfortunately i delete the surface. I simply can't fix this problem. I tryed by Editable poly :
- surface > create : i can validate the surface
- seglents > create : gmax can't select the polygons!!!

Sorry for my english but it's not easy for me...
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Hi. Select the object and convert it to editable poly. Select the polygon mode and click on the Create button. You will see the vertex points. On your picture the missing polygon contains 5 points (pentagon). So in create mode click on each 5 points to draw again the missing polygon. Its important to draw the polygon counter clockwise direction. If you are ready, turn off the Create mode.

regards,
Peter

Thanks for your answer, but i can't turn off the create mode!!!!
- I chose the object...
- I turn it into Editable Poly
- I choose Polygon
- I click on Create button
- I click on the five vertex points
When i close the shape, the message "Illegal new face" appears.

Arff, i found the problem. Sometimes i have to choose "Extrusion type = group" sometimes i have to choose "Extrusion type = by polygon"

Thanks a lot for your help :)

"Cap Holes" modifier caps holes in selected object ;) In other words it creates missing faces automatically using minimum possible number of triangles (polygons). It has one side effect - the object is converted to editable poly rather than editable mesh when modifier stack is collapsed, although it can be easily converted back to the mesh if necessary.
