• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Texture Direction Help Please!

Hi all!

I am trying to figure out why the game keeps flipping my textures. ( See the image example below.) The image on the left is what I want and how it shows in the material inspector. When I place the material on an apron the texture is then changed to be what you see on the right. No matter what direction I save the yellow block in, I don't get it going the direction I want. Has anyone else had this issue with textures on an apron?

I had a house flipped to the roof all the time because there was a negativ value in one of the object coordinates. So check if there is a minus sign anywhere in your blender model. At least that helped me out. There was also an appropriate message when I compiles (built) my model by the msfs builder saying that there is a negative value....

@GuidoH For texturing I am not doing it in the 3D software. I am just using aprons where I need them and applying textures. The textures I created to use in the game look fine in the game. They just come in flipped backward. Would it be better to create the aprons I want in my 3d software then bring them into the game?

Well I only know the way for aprons to create your own material and use it this way. My focus has been just scenery objects like buildings, vegatation, etc.

This is the way it works with aprons. You need to flip the texture yourself before using it so that it displays correctly in-sim.
