• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thankyou

Thanks to all for this, I have tested so many programs that purport to amend Afcads in FSX. Their are so many caveats and files to collect/locate it just frustrates you! Until this ADE came along that is.

All I wanted was to make some adjustments to a nice club airfield 20 miles down the road from me, EGCB Manchester, Barton. A 4 strip grass airfield with one of if not THE oldest towers in the UK and a very popular airfield, FSX just doesn`t do it justice.

With the help of ADE I`ve adjusted the parking from two lines to three before runway 02. Turned the traffic to face that runway. Forced AI traffic to use RW27L and 09R which most do in real life. Added lots of light planes with JF Traffic. Going to add helicopters at both ends, a training section and the short trip one at the other. Added a tower in the correct place in front of the big hanger near RW27L and RW32, this wants working on a bit more, love to get it like the original.

I have planes taking off from the midway point instead of at either end so I may try a grass turnaround (mini apron), like in EGCD. I still need to read up fully on amending the buildings. Got a big flat building in front of the largest hanger that needs deleting, plus about 8 buildings that need to be cut down to 4, and a cafe plus an approach road to put in. I was only going to do EGCB but I want some small airfields at or near Scarborough, so I`ll be looking at them next. Looks like a new hobby has started. :)

Thanks once again to all involved....

Hi Steve, I'll certainly be interested in your Barton when it's done. :D

I believe Bicester also claims the oldest operating watch tower (as opposed to control tower) - certainly that was part of their recent successful campaign to get it listed status and so keep the housing developers out.

As an update: Got traffic pushing back from park and joining RW27/09 (the taxi way one that runs along side the parking area) with a right turn onto it. This traffic continues to the apex of RW32 and the real 27L/09R and performs a left turn onto it as required for take off.

Aircraft landing on RW27L carries on to RW09R, turns left to the dummy 09/27 and proceeds to the junction of RW32. Depending on traffic, it correctly goes all the way down dummy 27/09 and turns right to park or turns right onto RW32 and then left into park. Traffic joining park lines up in the correct orientation ready for pushback. Traffic leaving park awaits any landing aircraft, may need to adjust this so they taxi to and hold at RW rather than hold at park, this shouldn`t be difficult.

Added two helicopter parking areas in the correct positions. Adjusted the size and look of the tower, a bit more to go yet. Added a rough vehicular access from off centre of park to the dual carriageway outside.

Only problems:
One of the now 2 buildings to get rid of is over the top of the new approach road, easily sorted when I find out how to get rid of the buildings.

Had to add a taxi join at the end of RW09R and the dummy 27/09, this looks ugly but presents problems if I don`t include it. Tried changing the width.

Future plans:
Get rid of the proposed 2 buildings, was four but one looks like the proposed cafeteria and the other can be utilised for the chopper training area. Their is a flat building, near the large hanger, to go though. I also want the doors open on the large hanger, hopefully a microlight showing in there and perhaps one on the tarmac. Fuel pump needs changing for a better model.

This is starting to look the part, no problem tim-I`ll make sure to contact you as and when. You need to get some traffic in there though, the Afcad will allow them to come in by sorting the parking but not physically plan them to.... Taking a break from it and started working on Eddsfield at Scarborough, a totally new airfield for FSX but existing in real life, utilising the correct lat and long. :) :D :)
