• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

The AI Carrier in a Mission

Hi Gents,

Great website, also you all have done a fantastic Joby on the Sim.

I have a quick Question, I really like the Carrier Missions Flying and Making, however have tried to use the AI Carrier in a Mission, start the mission on the carrier with a few AI moving, I can get the AI on the Deck in the build process, but when the Mission starts they fall into the water. Is this something simple or a complex solution ??:D

I even tried to create a static Carrier using the AI landable id, it compiled but does not show up in FSX(invisible).:eek:

Hi! a had same problem with my AI F14-D's.. i found a solution, here it is .. you have to put your AI aircraft in AI TYPE = AIRPLANE and , Unit_mode taxi and AircraftAIState (SIMPLE_TAXI) . dont care about ground speed if you don't want them to move. see the link image ! i hope it was your request. maybe you can help me with my problem of effect?

oh! something more ..... however the ai aircrafts are "sliding" on the moving carrier a few moment before to be completely static!(so take care their position at start up) another thing , if i start my mission just after starting fsx , y see my aircrafts, but if i just reset flight, they disepear!!!! so i have to reboot FSX!

Interesting, I will have to give this a try, was able to get it to work with as many ai as I want as long as the Carrier was not moving. Also found same issue when restarting. All AI Aircraft would fall in the water. LOL !!

Had to kill FSX and Restart to get them all back on the deck. When gettign the Carrier moving, if I put the Brakes on I was able to stay on the deck. Funny it is like thr Carrier Freaks out upon start up turns in a 180 for some reason several times before heading to its waypoint.

;)You're welcome sir! to be realistic and not so static, i run my carrier at 5 knots only! if its more, tha AI a/c slide too much and sink in the deep ocean!:D

I have noticed that AI carriers turns 180 degrees before heading out to it's waypoint. That makes me wonder why. I am making a scenery with an AI carrier (the carrier just moves very shortly when (hopefully) no one is simming). Not to hijack the thread, but does anyone know why that happens?

Hornet Missions

Hey Viking77,

I tried those free Hornet missions. They are very buggy and caused lockups of system that required a complete shutdown and restart. Also, the missions are far from complete and are a poor example of the high quality expected from a payware company. The first two missions did work. The third one had no sound files, only text dialog.
The biggest complaint that I have is that when I unstalled this mess it bombed my F/A-18 aircraft completely. I had to replace the F/A-18 with a saved copy. I still have not checked to see what else the uninstall did to my system. You should not be recommending this disaster to anyone.
