• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Tough Question

Here is a humdinger for you guys. Lets say that I wanted to create a hover gauge that showed my vertical and sideward velocity on a round dial. If the aircraft was only moving foward the pointer would be due north on the dial, if the aircraft were moving left, then the pointer would be due west on the dial. But if the aircraft were moving foward and left at the same velocity, the pointer would be at the north east position of the dial.

That is alot harder to describe than it would have been to draw! Is it possible?

I am sure that I would use the following vatiables, but I am not sure how to word them in XML.

VELOCITY BODY Z
VELOCITY BODY X

Once again this would be for FSX!

Thanks in advance!

basically I want to have an image of a circle and I want the object to move around the circle depending on the velocity of the helicopter. so if it was moving to the left, then the object would be on the east side of the circle. but if the helicopter was moving foward and left the object would be to the top left of the circle or north east. Does that make sense?

Thanks for all the looks, but I figured it out on my own. It was actually very simple once I stoped making it so difficult!

Thanks again!
