• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Transform object function broken

Hi Arno,
it's broken since Nov. 22 beta release. (I cannot go further back as I havn't saved earlier beta versions)

I've used this function in 0.55 and it was OK.

cheers,
Gian Paolo

Hi Gian,

With none of my test models I see this. I tried both the TransformCall and Transform_Mat commands. Do you have an example that fails for testing?

Hi Arno,
well, my message was too quick and short!

I mean the transform object functions activated from the button in the preview toolbar! (Move/Rotate/Scale object).

Since the beta versions it is now impossible, i.e., to scale up or rotate the imported object.

Hope it's more clear now!
ciao,
Gian Paolo

Hi,

Now I understand it, I also see what you mean.

The problem here is that the preview is not updated correctly (due to the optimisation I added to improve the drawing performance). Once you would export the changes are there.

I'll see how to fix this, probably have to regenerate part of the vertex arrays for the preview.

mmmmhhh, not the preview only!
I would like to lower the static aircraft you already have to simulate tyre compression in the grass. So I put -0.03 (centimeters) into the Y axis (move function).
When I see the bounding box values they became -0.177 and 2.392
.
They were 0.000 and 2.422. So the top of the model is computed ok, the bottom ......

I attach 2 images; Shot 1 is a little bit .... scrambled.

Cheers
Gian Paolo

Hi Gian,

I will check it. Also I think in ModelConverterX you should see that the Z axis is for the altitude. But you can be sure I will check if these functions still work.

Hi Gian,

I think I have found and fixed the problems now. The fix is in the next nightly build. On my PC all transformations seem to be working fine again.

Thanks Arno,
I'm leaving tomorrow morning (opening of skying season!)
Will test next Thu.

Ciao
Gian Paolo

Hi Gian,

No hurry :).
