• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

Transparency issue on PAPI models

Hi. I have recently installed a few airports in P3Dv5, some with installers only up to P3Dv4. I have found a few airports, Malaga, Menorca, and Ibiza all from Aerosoft, are displaying a strange issue with the PAPI models. At first I thought it was a transparency issue with the light textures themselves, but after using ModelconverterX today, it looks as if the transparency issue (or model issue) is with the entire model for the PAPIs. For some reason there are two huge vertical walls in the model. In the sim they are somewhat transparent, but as you can see from the pics below, not completely. It's the first time I have ever come across this particular issue. Any idea how I could fix these?

I have a similar issue with Gibraltar Pro (P3D V5) when installed in V6. I will follow this topic in case somebody as a suggestion !

Edit : I forgot to say that this is a one second blinking "wall".

Just a thought ... it's not, by any chance, a "security feature" caused by the software not being registered properly?
I only suggest this as I'm aware of a similar (but more intrusive) feature being apparent on the demo versions of airfields from UK2000.

The scenery is officially installed and registered as an add-on - would be surprising.
I have open a question on Aerosoft forum - no feedback so far ;(

Turns out the huge wall isn't the actual problem, because other sceneries probably by the same developer, also have the huge wall on the same model, but it does not appear in the sim. Also, when I opened the PAPI model again, from one of the sceneries where it had the transparency issue, the model only showed one huge wall, not two crossed huge walls like in the screenshots above, although that may be because the one above was from Malaga, and it has two runways.. So, still scratching my head. I have also tried using a working PAPI model from one scenery and renaming it and adding it to another scenery that had the PAPI issue with, but for whatever reason it does not appear. I managed to fix the issue at one airport (Ibiza) by total removing the PAPI model and just adding PAPIs to the runway using Airport Design Editor. Unfortunately that same fix didn't work at Malaga. Used exactly the same process as Ibiza, but for some reason the ADE PAPIs do not appear in the sim. Only other fix is to remove the PAPIs altogether and just not have PAPIs.

Thanks, but no. All sceneries are installed after inputting the serial. Aerosoft sceneries will not install without a correct serial number.
