This is a guide to help people who have common issues, such as installation problems.
Installation:
Problem: The Flight Toolkit fails to install with the error that it can't find Flight.exe
Solution: Make sure you have Flight installed. If you are not sure you can install it form here: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9800616
Problem: The Flight Toolkit fails to install with the error that Flight.exe is the wrong version
Solution: This can happen if you previous installed Flight prior to the last update for it came out, and never ran it again before the Flight servers were shutdown. Your best option in this case is to uninstall Flight, and then reinstall it form this link: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9800616
Problem: The Flight Toolkit fails to install with an generic error
Solution: Look for the installer log files in %temp%. There should be several that start with "Flight_Toolkit_<some numbers that represent a date>_". Please email them to flighttoolkit+support@gmail.com, and make sure to include the one that ends with "_FlightToolkitSetup.msi.log"
FSX Conversion:
Problem: Some scenery such as the Golden Gate bridge do not show up in Flight.
Solution: It has been reported that this happens if you try to use a folder in your user directory as the output folder. Make sure you use a folder that is not in "C:\Users", "C:\Program Files" or "C:\Program Files (x86)".
Running Flight:
Problem: The DLC that is enabled in Addon Manager doesn't show up in Flight.
Solution 1: Check the log file in %appdata%\Microsoft\Flight\ContentErrors.log to see if there are any relevant errors about the addon.
Solution 2: Check to see if you have both the Steam and the standalone version of Flight installed. If that is the case you will need to uninstall the Flight Toolkit, uninstall the Steam version of Flight, and then reinstall the Toolkit. Launch the standalone version of Flight afterwards and you will hopefully have working addons.
