• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX:SE Unable to compile data

Hi. I've just installed this app, version 4.302. On two separate computers, I've tried to use it to update the lighting on an airport created in ADE, however the 'Make Object Library' will not let me select a Light Source, and thus will not create a library. I note from another thread that AFLT should ask to 'Create Elements' when it starts up, but that isn't happening so I assume that an essential step is missing in the process. I can't find an option to initiate this process manually. At the moment, I am working on this airfield for FSX:SE (I believe it's version 63003).

Hi Tim. "Create Elements" does not apply to Version 4. What version of Flightsim had you selected on the Make Library dialog. Since not all lighting sources apply to all FS versions, AFLT won't enable the light source buttons until you have selected a Flightsim version.

I have the same problem Don, no lighting buttons have a selection bullet and the button is greyed out. Version = FSX only.

Do you mean that you have only FSX installed? If yes, even so, is the FSX radiobutton checked?

I appreciate if only one version is installed you shouldn't have to select it (and I can fix that). But, at the moment, if no FS version radiobuttons are checked, the light-source radio buttons are disabled for the reason I noted above).

Yes, FSX is the only sim version installed, and the FSX button is checked. See Attached screen shot. The Light Sources Radio buttons have no selection and cannot be changed.

So,what you are telling me is not that the light source radiobuttons are not enabled (which is what I had assumed), but that your selection is not recognized/accepted.

I'll be making a new release in the next day or two. It will be fixed in that release.

Yes, I believe we have the same problem. I have FS9, FSX:SE and P3Dv4.5 installed on my system. I am currently working on an airfield for FSX, and that is selected in the dialogue. I can make selections for the opening times, but I cannot activate any of the radio buttons for the light source. Hence the ‘Create/Save Library’ button remains greyed out.

I've taken a very close look at the related code. I can find no reason why those radiobuttons won't select if they are enabled, i.e., not greyed-out.

However, I installed a new instance of AFLT and I can now duplicate the problem. So, it has something to do with initialization of a new system.

I'll get to the bottom of it.

Edit: In the meantime, if you want to compile, close AFLT, open the Project.ini file in the relevant Project Folder with a text editor, find the line reading "Light Source = 0" , change the 0 to 1 for BGL Lights, 2, for effects, 3 for inverse effects or 4 for LOD_Variable lights. Save the file and re-open AFLT. You should now be able to compile (but you probably still won't be able to change the source).

FS9 Version is happening also.... If I open the compile screen only effects can be selected....When I opened an older project, only bgl lights could be selected.

Yes. It will happen with all versions - and I have just discovered the cause. Now, all I've got to do is figure out a way to fix it.

Problem found and fixed. I hope to make a major release tomorrow, This fix will be included.
