Hi Don,

I've just installed 4-2-17 and this error occurs on compilation.

AFLT Crash.jpg

No problem occurred on the previous version.

My method of installation is to expand the program folder into a subfolder of Airfield Light Toolbox so each version is standalone. I've copied the Project Folder from the previous version into the new Project Folder.

Another small thing is that 4-2-16 always asked for the location of the FS9 BCLCOMP.EXE despite having recorded the location in the config file.

Thanks for all your work on this.

Regards

Martin Connor

Hi Martin.

Sorry, I am unable to duplicate your issue. But from the error message, even though you are compiling for FSX, it appears the compiler used is for FS9.

The were no changes in 4.2.17 that would have resulted in this error.

Curiously, you mention difficulty with the FS9 compiler yet, from the Make Library panel, it appears you have only FSX installed. Your installation method is not clear to me. Try installing per the manual. If you still have difficulty, ship me your Project Folder at the e-mail address at the end of the user manual.

Hi Don,

Thanks for your swift reply. User error of course. When I saw the message flash up about Compiler Location I failed to note that it was asking for the FSX BGLCompiler not the FS9 one. I deleted the AFLT.INI and ran through it again and all is well, except for the 2nd point about asking for the FS9 BGLCOMP. I assume that both compilers are necessary on every build. I took this screen shot with the message and state of the aflt.ini file at that time. My install is per the manual I believe.

i.e.

G:\program files\Airfield Lighting Toolbox\4-2-15
G:\program files\Airfield Lighting Toolbox\4-2-16
G:\program files\Airfield Lighting Toolbox\4-2-17

AFLT - FS9.jpg

Hope this clarifies the situation.

Martin

The FS9 compiler "lives" in the AFLT\FS9 Compilers folder. As you suspect, It is required to compile the lights for both FS9 and FSX.
