• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello Arno,

I'm missing the button 'Update Textures' in the material editor. How can I set the texture changes to the 3d model prior to exporting them?

Hi,

Sounds like a bug, it should be there. Let me double check the toolbar was not made invisible with a recent update.

Hi,

There is the Save textures button on the textures tab. That does save the updated textures to disk. The in memory model is updated as soon as you made the changes. So there is no need for an update button.

Hello Arno,

That sounds good but doesn't work for me. I had the same idea with the "Save Texture" button but every time I reload the exported MDL it has the same old textures in it.
When I optimize the drawcalls, the 'Object Information' shows the new number of reduced drawcalls but as soon as I close the material editor window it shows the old texture names and old information again.
Seems like a bug to me. Build is #375.

Regards, Heinrich

Hi,

I can indeed reproduce the problem. Only for the drawcall minimizer, other changes I make in the material editor are kept. Let me see if I can fix this soon.

In the meantime I'm working with build 351. No such issues there.

Thank you,
Heinrich

Hi,

I fixed the bug now. So from tomorrow it should work again in the development release.
