• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Each time I run AI Flight Planner, it states that I have downloaded a later version and requests whether I should install it. The latest zip I have is dated 12/03/2009. How does AIFP decide that I have a later version of the zip and, where would you suggest that I look for this later version?

Same here, Don.
I notice all previous update folders have a unique name (i.e. the vs name , 1.6.04). Starting with 1.6.06, the file name is "latest". Did you name 1.6.07 "latest" also, and now the downloader thinks I already have it, which I do not. Not that I know anything.

Bob

The exe version in aifp_latest.zip dated 12th March inst is 1.0.0 but the title bar states 1.6.06

OOps! I was trying to implement file-naming that didn't require a links to be updated with each new release. It works fine for downloading, but (as you've discovered) is a bit of a problem if you leave the downloaded file (i.e., aifp_latest.zip) in your AIFP folder.

To get rid of the message, simply delete aifp_latest.zip from your AIFP folder.

I'll revert to the old naming system or come up with a better scheme tomorrow.

Don

Version 1.6.08 stores the update file locally using the version name (e.g. aifp_v16_08.zip). This should eliminate the repeated message.
