• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I have an annoying problem. I imported an FS9 FA-18E from the KBT team into FSX SP2.
I updated the panel with fs9 gauges eliminating the fs8 ones that are no longer supprted. I then used the image tool to render the panel background .bmp's transparent again as they were not anylonger. The 2D panel now works fine but unfortunately the vc still has a black background and
on top of that I now get a fatal error message when shutting FSX down (maybe I overlooked some incompatible gauges but in that case I do not know which ones).
Can somebody come up with some solution for this?

Hi,

I encounter the craziest of things fiddling with this panel.
As explained earlier I had this problem with the vc being non transparent.
Now, I loaded also the light version of the FA-18E and its panel is aliased to the FA-18E normal version.
The crazy thing is that the vc panel shows normal, i.e. transparent in the AI (light) version but opaque (black) in the normal version.
Can anyone give me some explanation of what is happening here?

Hi,

I will rephrase my question.
The FS KBT team made some FS9 models of the FA-18 (E, E light, E superlight, F and EA FA-18G). The only model where the VC is working is in the E light model although I made the panels the same for all of them.
As I do not speak Japanese I post my question here as I would like to know if there is a way to adapt the textures so as to have a transparent VC in all models. I have found no info on their site: http://www.flightinfo.jp/FS_KBT/dai.htm
I tried all the recipes with no luck so far. But maybe I did not find the right canopy vc texture.
The models are better than the FSX ones by the way and there are a lot more textures available for them. That is why it is a shame the VC is not working in all the models.
Thanks beforehand for any tip in this respect.
