• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Vehicle types on roads

Is there any way to limit which type of airport vehicle drives on the VEHICLE type roads?
The airport I'm making has a perimeter road which looks great when the patrol vehicles drive it. Not so great when a convoy of ten stairs drive it.

Aww that sucks. I don't suppose the 'weight limit' property affects the ambient vehicles (there could be a value of, say 2500lb so a car would drive a path but not a truck)? Or is that just for aircraft?

I once had to create an airport for a client under this specific provision, he absolutely insisted on perimeter patrol vehicles. Since it was a private job, I'd had the freedom of modifying global attributes, it would be run in a dedicated system. However, I had to retain default highway traffic, so Federico's restriction prevailed. I even explored modifying airport vehicles, but found there was no way to establish, or ensure schedules. Finally, I followed someone else's advice and created another airport within my airport. The "security office" became the main apron, the impossibly small runway was inside the security office and the flightless vehicles had to navigate a taxiway that circled the airfield, before finally timing out parked in front of the office in abject frustration. I was dreadfully afraid some jumbo jet would spawn in the security office parking lot before the guy paid me, but apparently I covered that provision too. If you designate the parking "military,"only military planes will spawn there and since they are camouflaged, I never see them anyway.

Actually you can just remove them from your hangar, or reconfigure planes to not have an AI version, but food for thought, just the same.

Or
You can remove the vehicle taxipath , (design it as textured apron or polygon)
And add a custom worldscript for a more customizable traffic (maybe including your own vehicle design)

Again, unfortunately, there is no tool in the SDK for It (and I shoud really write one cause is getting annoying waiting for Asobo to restore the Mission tools!)

Unfortunately no way 🥺
The airport "living world" is not customizable "per airport", but only "per world zones" including all airport in a given very large area

Dev confirmation here:
The issue is that I still want the stairs and buses etc around the apron, I just don't want them going round the perimeter road.
