• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

Does anyone know of any really good Blender video tutorials for buildings? All of the ones here are for aircraft which doesn't really apply to me?

Thanks

I don't use Blender myself but there are many tutorials. Modelling techniques are the same even if for aircraft. Learn your platform. How to put your models in to FS is another school of thought and most answers to that can be found here.

Thanks for the replies - I'm a little lost though. Do you guys know the best place to learn Blender? I've tried to apply what I've seen in tutorials and a lot of it isn't needed or doesn't work with what I want to do? If i knew the ins and outs of the platform it might make more sense I just don't really know where to look.

Thanks

Regardless of what you want to do, you still need to learn the software. Learn the basics. Grab a simple object such as your cell phone and model it. Review basic operation videos which there are plenty of.

This is how everyone else learns.

TIP: Download my "Getting started with Blender Guide - (5mb, 6pdf documents) " over here, from the resources section:

Look at my 1st document called "B2FSX_Guide_chapter1_introduction_v2.pdf", from page 7 and further.
There you will find a lot of links to online Blender tutorial websites, youtube movies

Thanks for the help.
