• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Thanks for the link. "We were promised jetpacks and flying cars, and all we got was this lousy chart," freaking love it. I was very fascinated about the Stratolaunch article even though many of the "marvels" aren't as original as implied. The marvelous wingspan greater than the Wright Flight was enjoyed by the B-29. Premier Space Systems has been quietly launching satellites into space using a MiG-21UM since 2011 with plans to expand to an F-15 Eagle, just south of the Evergreen State at KHIO Hillsboro, not far from where The Spruce Goose rests. Considering Mr Beames mentioned LEO (low Earth Orbit) exactly the target for PSS, and

“Paul’s thing is to nourish the mavericks,” he said. “They’re the ones fueling the future.” Beames said there was a “detailed strategy” approved by Allen that was based on sound business practices. A “revolution” in technology that is making once-massive satellites tiny, some no bigger than a shoebox, would fuel demand, he said.

One might think a MiG, or surely an F-15 would be sufficient to launch a shoebox into LEO and would go a long way toward fueling demand before Stratobehemoth's scaffolding permit even got approved, as far as nourishing mavericks goes. Well we got the "detailed strategy" part, just not the rest. I am saying that Stratolaunch does not appear to be designed - comparatively - to propel cameras and sensors into LEO. People perhaps, but Beames is not saying that.

I also believe Stratolaunch may have hit a brick wall and that is why Paul Allen decided to reveal it. Hints about lost partnerships might be leads, or they might be dead ends fielded to cover an intentional boondoggle. The whole, "hidden until 76% complete and suddenly reporters are invited" agenda convinces me the entire event - rocket scientists and their careers included - is orchestrated for an unspoken concerto of which "flying to space" is only the rhythm section. The facts are that he already did it once with Space Ship One.

I wouldn't start modeling Stratolaunch just yet.

Yea Rick, the monster doesn't appeal to me but the flying car does. Now if it were able to act as a boat as well I'd start saving cans and bottles just to get one. :D

Interesting... So they are making that space rocket delivery vehicle. Thats Scaled Composites idea.

I like how the flying car is heavier and faster because I'm hearing ballistic kinetic energy. And I like how they keep talking about airports. Like Kanye West isn't going to go drive by someone or something and then just take off. What are they going to do, chase him with a flying police car? An F-16? A sincere reprimand?

Paul Allen In collaboration with Burt Rutan [Scaled Composites] led the team that completed the first manned private spaceflight on SpaceShipOne. Allen was notoriously fearful about the dangers in manned flight, and found it “hard to handle” that someone’s “life hung in the balance,” he recalled in his memoir, “Idea Man.” Allen eventually licensed the technology behind SpaceShipOne to Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic.

Now he is supposedly "back-at-it" with his shirt sleeves all rolled up and greasy just like Orville and Wilbur and i'm thinking it's just another sales pitch. Next time he'll build a Harley Davidson partnered LEO launch platform.
