• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Installed an old FSX scenery, originally by MFSG, of the island of Langkawi in Malaysia. This is a really nice scenery that works well and looks great in P3Dv4. However, it suffers from just one irritating problem - water mask! Have a look at these pictures. They show a large white area, out in the ocean southwest of the island :-

I have fond memories of Langkawi and this scenery really looks wonderful in P3D - but I have no idea how to solve this annoying problem. Can anyone help? I would love to get this scenery sorted and would welcome any ideas. MFSG are not prepared to solve the issue.

If so, are you referring to use of this scenery with the optional photo-real download, or only the basic package linked above ?

1) Copy and paste WMKL_Pulau Langkawi_X_2017 folder to ?:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery

2) Open FSX > setting > Scenery Library > add area WMKL_Pulau Langkawi_X_2017

You would need to contact the original creator of the scenery to get a fix. Optionally, you could create your own, or wait for Dos Equis (MSFS) and it's world-wide photoreal.
 
The photoscenery from mediafire is expired. Using the pure scenery with FSX, there is no water-mask issue ;)
 
Just download SbuilderX, follow one of the many tutorials....and make your own photoreal. You could also use FS Earth Tiles.
