• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

I would like to know whether and if so how, I can change the aspect of a water body (a lake) to reflect the photoreal water in a better way.
In ADE I can choose AFAIK between ocean, lake, harbor and river but nothing else.
Have a look at the attached screenshots to show you what I mean.

SBuilderX is the only tool I know which enables you to change the default waterclass (look of the water). Let me know if I can help you.

Thanks but I would not know if or how you could help.
The scenery consists of:
- An ADE airport with a lot of custom made objects, flattens, excludes and an 'ocean flatten' to keep the lake water from overflowing:);
- FSX KML excludes and other polygons.
The photoreal is for personal use (because I am not sure I can use the photoreal ground, although US territory) and I am therefore trying to adapt the non-photoreal as much as possible to the photoreal. One of the problems is the water color (some others are the night textures and the right landclasses and the blending of them).
How would I be able to add a special water polygon to those two ponds with SbuilderX and merge it with the airport.bgl?
 
Modifications of the waterclass in SBuilderX affect selected cells. If we are lucky, these cells would only change the water color of the ponds but it is very likely that the water color of the ocean will be affected too. There are too possibilities: testing or taking a look at the area in TmfViewer.
