• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I doing a new airport and started it that way by using the New Airport button. I fill out the necessary form with all the info and then locate the runway. It's at 72° heading with a -26° mag var. The designation is Water, East, Water. I keep getting errors to the effect that it has no designation.
The Coordinates are: 55.1179048734, -130.2655900768 and the Altitude is 84.42 meters.
It will NOT compile with that error.
What am I doing wrong?
How should the runway be configured?

Well ... I found out what the problem was, or problems because thats what it was. I looked at the XML and it FSXP had placed a runway in there that didn't show. This happened several times because I deleted the files and started over with different file names every time. That runway was at 110.xxxxxx and -380.xxxxxx coords. This has got to be a bug in the program. Also .... remember ... ? This was a new airport, why place a delete airport section there? There was no airport to delete .... New airport means to me that it's a totally new airport.
Water runways defiantly needs checking.

That's true that a delete airport tag would not need to be placed in a new airport. You can specify whether or not delete tags are placed in the Prepare Options dialog.

As for the other issues you explained, I'll put them on the bug fix list and check them out. Thanks for pointing them out.

Thanks Russell. I got it going but I almost didn't. Until I looked at the XML I had no clue what was happening.
