• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi,

Well done to all involved, The airport background polygon is a great addition.

I haven't used the program much I've been using AFX, Whisplacer and sbuilderX but I think this program could become my main FSX software quite easily.

If I may I'd like to suggest a couple of things for future consideration.

I think only 2 features I personally would like to see are missing, which would make this my all round program;

1. Ability to import & place MDL objects, like whisplacer does.

2. The ability to import the information (top left, bottom right co-ords)from the .txt file that sbuilder creates when you save an aerial image as a background. It would be nice that when you select the aerial image to import, the program looks for the accompanying txt file and imports the co-ords directly from it. Doing this manually does get a bit tedious if you have a lot of them to do.

Well done again

Thanks Stevo - Both of those items are on the development list.

The coordinates from SBuilder has been there a while and I have just not managed to get it done :o I will give it a boost up the list :)

As for adding library objects this will be in the next version. There is an object manager already in ADE but it was not stable or finished enough to make accessible with 1.20. We plan it should be available to users in the next release.

Hi

Excellent, It will be great not having to use 4 different programs to build an airport.

Could this really be the first free FS design program that 'does it all'

:D

We certainly have no plans to claim that :) We would however hope that the average user (whatever that means!) should be able to either create a small airport from scratch or enhance a small to medium sized airport entirely in ADE. If it is 'on airport' then you should be able to do it in ADE. That still leaves a huge amount of scenery design work that it will not be the best or most complete tool for.

It will certainly make my working process shorter, build my models in Gmax/3dsmax, a quick spin in Sbuilder to save the aerial image, then import that into ADE, do all the ground work in ADE, and place my objects.

Instead of, Building my models in gmax/3dsmax, download the background image in sbuilder and do the basic ground work, import my objects into Whisplacer and setup a background image, then place my objects. Setup another background image in AFX or FSX planner and layout the rwys, twy, etc
