• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

hi ,this is my first plane to make and im still learning here so please can someone tell me what should i do after creating the plane in gmax ,
i mean i finishid my plane with animations and things like that in gmax so whats next how can i fly it in fsx please someone help me or atleast tell me where can i find a tutorial for the whole process.
thanks in advance:):)

so you have fsx,and gmax...do you have the fs tools tab in gmax...

if you dont you have to fix that first....the fs tools tab is where you begin to export your aircraft....

you need somewhwere to export it to....navigate to fsx/simobjects/airplanes.

if you look at the folders for each aircraft, you will see what is required...
dont overwrite any folders...to open cfg files use notepad....

the technique with gmax is to make your own folders in fsx for gmax to export to....make a folder in fsx/simobjects/airplanes..call it what you like....

you can copy existing folders into your own folder and modify them to suit...

inside your aircraft folder...you will need a model folder.inside that you will need a cfg....look at fsx existing files and you will see what i mean...
you export your model using the fs tools in gmax..

use the lod tab in gmax fs tools to give it a guid, and a friendly name.then you export it to fsx/sim objects/airplanes/your folder/model...as mdl....the interior of your aircraft is a seperate export to interior mdl....usually by cloning your exterior...if you use the colors that gmax provides it should show up...but for
painting your own colors etc...you need texture folders......and alot of hard work....for the sound file you can alias it with another aircraft...for now....

the tricky one is the cfg file...and the air file....ther are plenty of tutorials...but fsx is not ths same as fs9...play eround with it....but dont overwrite fsx files.....experiment with copies....if you start at the begining and ask a specific question at each step...you will get there quicker....its more complex than just how to get it to show up in fsx....jim

are there any video tutorials on the whole process or atleast seprate processnot the whole thing and i just.

read the sdk pdf..in the fsx sdk......take a tour of the posts in fs developer,,including all the previous posts going back in the mists of time...a gold mine of valuable knowledge....check out the wiki....and develope an infinate patience, and determination....spread through the site you will find links to every kind of info...jim
