• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Yes, but they are in the ground side too, left and right side of the runway and not follow any pattern, look as they are protecting those yellow squares,

Those could be access points for underground utilities.

Airports have a lot of infrastructure items which might be marked for many reasons, but are not avaition specific facilities so do not have a common marking scheme.

I've seen warning stakes somewhat similar to those near drainage storm sewer grates. The warning stakes are for people mowing the airport grass areas to keep them away from damaging the storm sewer, or the mower.

They are not aircraft warnings because aircraft are not supposed to be out in those areas off the runways and taxiways.

I guess they could also warn vehicles like maintenance and AARF who might be in those areas.

Yes, It's clear that is for warning that something is there, but I thought too that can be anything, I think I will ask to the the airport people.

Hi,

I think it is warning foutre the lid in the ground there. The poles seem around it.

or it could also be to find them back when there is snow.

Send from my phone using Tapatalk, so excuse the short sentences and possible typos

Yes, that is the first impression, those items are to be found, but no in case of snow, not here really :D, anyway I will investigate.

They also use them as a runway light marker so you don't hit the light but like others said its probably just to tell you that something is there. What airport is this?

This is the Hierro Ariport, little indeed. I thought this was more specific, but are just a marker, what is marking is another issue. could be anything, I will see if I can gain access to the facilities. maybe jumping the fences.

Most likely these are markers for different kinds of subterranean installations such as cable duct, hydrants etc.

You will probably get the best answer from the local operations manager.

I can say almost for certain the orange pipes would have to be markers and they are plastic. At least by US standards. We generally use orange for markers and if we are setting up barriers we generally use 4 to 6 inch pipe to create the barrier and paint it yellow. With everything going on in that area, lights above and at ground level, there are thousands of underground connections to everything in the area and electronic control for all the connections. Since it is near water there are also sump pumps and pipes to carry water away from any access tunnels in the area. Orange can also mean underground gas lines which would have valves to isolate sections of underground pipes. All this said, Those would probably be access points.

I can't say for certain that is what they are, my experience is as an industrial electrician but I've never worked at an airport. If you don't get a straight answer from the airport I would assume they are access covers. For what is anyone's guess unless you have the architecture plans for the airport.

I will have to play the fool a little and ask to someone there what is that, to work in these airports are the best jobs of the world. like you the airplanes or not

Yes they are. Some of my friends here were not only working but they were going on very inexpensive vacations because they could fly anywhere the company they worked for flew.

yes, many people work there only to get those free tickets, I know about the business a little. But in this case I mean they have four aiplanes daily
