What method to use effects?

Hello,
I am debating what way to go about placing an effect within an object designed in FSDS3.:scratchch I can't see any way to do it within FSDS, so another alternative was to place the effect with Scruffyduck's Scenery Maker tool. However, it would be nice to have the effect already in the object. This is going to be a scenery object, by the way. What would you recommend? Unless there really is only one way to do it...

Thanks,
Kobbe:)

Hi,

In GMax it is possible to attach effects to your MDL object. As FSDS3 also use MakeMDL to create the scenery, I think it should be possible to attach stuff as well. But I don't know how to do it, as in GMax you need to run a special script for it. So maybe somebody who knows more about FSDS can help you here.

Else placing the effects directly with XML code is always an option, but I agree that having it together with the object is nice.

PS. There is a bug in Fs2004 that causes excludes to remove attached effects. So if you have an exclude in your scenery as well, you can better place the effect separate from the object, as you will else hit this bug.
