• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi!

i am trying to make my first .bgl file for the Finland AI traffic. I did download some .txt traffic files from AIG site. AIFP is installed correclty and showing target version to FS2020. But what i am doing wrong here?
1) i will select FP text (for example Flightplans_AIG_Finnair_Su19.txt)
2) it will tell "aircraft reference number not in aircraft list"
3) i will "bulk add impor"t all my ai aircrafts and they will list now in "aircraft list". But all of them.
4) now when i am duobleclicking flightplan, it will use random aircraft, but i can change that to match correct aircraft. But this need lots of work.

So how can this utilisation app update that "aircraft list" with used aircract, not all of my collection.

I gather the end result is simply that the Aircraft List contains unused aircraft. To eliminate theem, use the Aircraft List "Validate/Consolidate Aircraft List" function.

Thanks for the reply. I did miss in this:
- did not include those "Aircraft_AIG_Finnair_Su19" and "Airports_AIG_Finnair_Su19" in same folder, where flightplan was. Now it is working. I am manually editing those Aircraft.txt files to match with my AI aircraft collection´s aircraft.cfg credentials.

Is there easier way to edit 3rd party .bgl´s to match my own ai traffic aircraft base? I have same structure B789 AAL than this guys .bgl´s (https://flightsim.to/file/18637/msfs-offline-ai-traffic-north-america) but AIFP shows every aircraft as red (missing model from system). I can press "substitute" and select there right model from my collection, but that way is would be killer with time i have to make one aircraft variant by variant by airline. But these bgl´s are time saver for me, if i just get figure how to make those combatible with my fsx converted ai traffic models.

Your question is far too general for me to answer with any specificity.

AIFP is the Swiss Army Knife of AI flight planning tools. It includes an 80-page user manual which describes in detail the myriad of available functions and has a detailed table of contents. I've spent a great deal writing and updating that manual. I'm sure if you look to it, you'll find answers to most of your questions. In particular, if the user manual doesn't mention something along the lines of what you are seeking and there's no likely menu items, it doesn't exist (in AIFP). If you have a specific issue that is not addressed in the user manual, I'm happy to try and address it. But, please recognize I don't have access to your system and I have no way of knowing, for example, what is your "ai traffic aircraft base".

What you seem to be asking for is some function that analyses the aircraft in a loaded set of flight plans that will automatically substitute comparable aircraft from your system if the specified aircraft is not installed. I appreciate this would be a "nice-to-have", but AIFP does not do this nor, I suspect, can any other flight planning application. Think about it! Aircraft in flight plan file sets and traffic files are identified solely by title; if that title is not installed on your system, on what basis would a substitute be chosen? Bottom line, if you want satisfying custom AI, be prepared to invest the necessary effort to get it.
