• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Where is everyone?

No questions? No discoveries? No head banging on the desks???

EVeryone must be in the kitchen cooking the turkey beasty-woo, mashing the potatoes, throwing the rubber-biscuits in the oven, searching for the ever-hiding can of cranberries, prepairing those bottles of expensive Walgreens bottles of vino, putting on dress clothes.....

Or just to stressed to work on FS related things and decided to watch the game on tv........

:d

nope we all in here somewhere.....its like this, after much gnashing of teeth,
and asking really stupid questions..some kind soul, takes pity on us, and patiently, explains the bleedin obvious.

suddenly and unexplicitaly..what before was a complete mystery, now makes some kind of weird sense...

and of we go full steam ahead...until we hit the next iceberg.....after a while the gaps between icebergs, becomes longer, fooling us into believing we know all there is to know..

watch this space....jim

Hey G,

I did see it but was of no help on how to get yours working so I waited for Bill Leaming or Vitus to chime in. I still understand nothing about fuel gauge code. It is about the most exotic bit of XML mystery code I know of in the FS world. How it works is beyond me. I am still pretty upset about the Kodiak fuel selectors not being able to act like separate shut-offs and having wierd glitches in them.

I hope you get it straightened out. Maybe give it some more bumps in that thread till the right person finds it.

I heard you all got some nice snow! I live in a desert, Phoenix Arizona in the US. We rarely see it, maybe every so many years, it will sprinkle some, which melts when it contacts the ground.

With learning all this FS stuff, just remember, one department at a time. Figure out how basic gauges are done in a VC. Once you get over that hurtle, go to the next. Dont tackle everything at once, just one step, one department at a time. Soon you will be done. The more your focus on small items, the better your learning of it all.

XML is a real difficult one. Luckily you can reuse and modify gauge code from stock existing code in FS. It also makes for great studying material to see how it works. When you come to a halt in that, just ask here. The gauge code gurus are always a great help.

one thing for sure, i have learnt more about xml, from this site.than i did from
a huge book i foolishly purchased from Amazon....learn xml in 24 hours...

oh really, not a mention of fsx...silly of me to expect it to....but i learnt a bit about fooling with web pages...not much help really...

they say its going to snow for 2 weeks.....oh my god, we are all doomed...jim

I'm currently smothered by school, so I work very slowly.. Therefore I rarely find any problems...
