• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

i've got a plane thats now ready for its flight model to be done .. however i have no idea what i'm doing .. i've changed the vaules i recognize in the .cfg file but still highly confused by most of them, and the AIR file is still a complete mystry. I've gathered theres 3 programs that you can use to edit, airwrench, aired, and AAM. I've opened up the airfile in AAM but i'm not the wiser.

I've done a search on ere and most people tend to link to http://perso.orange.fr/hsors/FS_Soft/aerolinks.html but thats dead so its pretty useless now :(

Website addresses change... forum posts, not so much. ;)

cool little tool for telling you whats going in within FS, not so useful for actually changing any of it though, SDK doesnt say anything about airfiles either :(

Did you even check out the 'Home' link?

yea i did, and for total beginers its pretty useless, sure its good for theory of how it all works in the real world etc, but for setting max speed say in FSX its next to useless :(

It's not nearly as 'useless' as you think. Unfortunately it requires learning and research, and here's why: There's no single setting anywhere that controls how fast an aircraft flies in the sim.

If you want fuller information on the .air file download the Prepar3d SDK.

In the Learning Center select SimObject Creastion Kit|Flight Model SDK|Flight Models.
