Whisplacer - Generic objects do not work

Hello all,

I have just started to use a wonderful tool called Whisplacer and everything seems to work OK but...

...the generic objects. After placing them into the scenery and compiling them I cannot see them in FSX.

When I place the generic object in Whisplacer, I can see that there is a cross within the object - something a don't see on other (non-generic) objects.

I suspect I am missing something really simple...

Does anybody know where the problem might be?

Thank you.

Milan

If youare looking in FSX set the image complexity to EXTREMELY DENSE and see if they show up at that setting

And be sure the BGL is in an active scenery folder as well.

Thank you for your thoughts, guys. The bgl is in the right folder and added as FSX scenery + the scenery setting is to extremely dense.

and the problem remains :(

I still suspect there is a problem with the paths Whisplacer works with. All the standard objects appear on the Whisplacer working screen in blue and some sort of description but the generic objects are in red/purple with a cross over. See the screen.

Doesn't it mean Whisplacer have some problem finding/generating the generic object?

thx for your ideas

maybe a way how to find out...

Can somebody send me a little scenery file (bgl) with one standard and one generic object placed by Whisplacer that works for him/her?

I'll try it myself in FSX and open it in Whisplacer to see the details.

thank you

Milan

Ive found its a problem with how Whisplacer tries to overwrite old files.

Simply open your bgl again and save it as a different name (you may need to move or delete the older files so that you are only seeing the latest one). Each time you make a change, save it as a different name and then manual compile it.

A bit annoying but the benefits of that piece of software far outweigh the drawbacks :)
Regards

manual compile - that was it

I need to save and then make manual compile to see the generic buildings in FSX

thanks a lot for the help!
