• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Windows 7 Beta

Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has tried out the new Windows 7 Beta with flight sim. I've heard from several people that the new OS is like a dream come true, and everything vista should have been, even in the beta release.

What this tells me, is that quite possibly, we now have a system that can run FSX the way it should be :)
 
I have heard from people running Win7, that it runs like a clean Vista64 install (which means pretty fast). The fear is, however, that Microsoft will begin adding features to Windows7 that will slow it down. I hope they don't do that.

Remember that the beta is missing several features, that could end up robbing cpu and mem resources when added back in.
 
i surely hope not... i want an OS that doesn't eat computer resources when its doing nothing.
 
There'll be a little think bubble that pops up from the taskbar every few seconds, utilising 99% of the PC's resources saying "Are you sure you don't want to do something?" :)

The DX10 problems in FSX are not related to the OS of course, that is just a feature that was never really finished in FSX itself. Hence the name preview :).
 
I tried the windows upgrade to VISTA and found two of my programs didn't work. Also in FSX worked real well ezcept for a flash of color. Could be I'll have to upgrade my video card.

It may take a while for your software to be compatible to use in Windows 7. Something to consider. Frank!

I think Vista is to the Windows OS what FSX is to MSFS.
If it weren't for FS, I would have switched to another OS long ago.
