• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Windows 7 Updates

Hi all,

I am hoping that someone can help me solve an update problem.

My wife's laptop OS is Windows 7 Home Premium and there are a number of updates waiting to be installed.

These updates are

Security for IE 8
Security for .NET 3.5.1
W7 Service Pack 1

When I select the updates they download and install but will not configure when the laptop is rebooted. The message says that the changes are being reverted.

I have done some Google searching but cannot find an answer.

Does anyone know how to overcome this problem.

Regards

Richard

This is annoying, I know, I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out. Things you can try:

Fixing the update process -- go to Control Panel\System and Security\Action Center;
Click on Troubleshooting;
Click on Fix Problems with Windows Update.

This probably won't solve the problem:), but at least it will get you to the point where you can reselect the update options, and try installing updates one at a time to narrow down the problem.

Some people have been able to fix this by manually updating, but I don't know if this is possible with the SP update.

Thanks for your reply.

After a lot of unsuccessful attempts to get all these updates installed and configured I ended up with a fatal error.

I had to use the Samsung Recovery Solution to do a complete restore.

Fortunately nothing too important was lost.

After the restore every single update and the SP1 installed and configured just fine.

Thanks Bill ??? NOT.

Regards
