• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

landclass editing

I'm back and forth from satellite images and and regular autogen landclasses. Is there an easy way to edit a landclass, meaning once a place a image in ADE and put my landclass down, is there a way to easily edit it so half buildings and parking lots aren't in the simulator? Take it it's everywhere in the Sim, but I'd like to design better than that. I have before placed objects on all four corners of an area and screenshot an above ground shot in fax and tried to place that image in ADE. But there becomes problems when there are hills or mountains in the area, it just doesn't line up. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Chris:

If you properly explain what you are asking about, and supply some example screenshots with labels etc., we may be able help you.;)

Hi,

Instead of using simple landclass (where you cannot control the edges), you could instead create a terrain polygon and place the landclass texture on that. Then you can modify the edges to avoid visual problems.

Hope this helps,

Yes, but I wouldn't have any autogen.

Hi Chris:

IIUC, your goal was to use CVX Vector polygons textured with default land class textures and their associated Autogen annotations within the city limits, and then to allow the underlying default land class texture tiles and their associated Autogen annotations to display outside the city limits.

I see that today you have now successfully done that ...as you have shown in your other thread here:

Congratulations ! :)
