• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hey guys,
Yep, that issue is on me!
Turns out the Khronos Exporter doesn't like it when an extension doesn't contain any attributes - which is the case for the day/night extension (thanks Asobo :tapedshut:tapedshut).

So please stay tuned for the next update, which will address this problem!

Hello! I found out a weird thing with the glass material. You can see other glass faces through the glass. Thank you!

Currently the blender msfx plugin is very unstable and buggy I recommend 2017 max
In what way is the addon unstable or buggy? I can't fix anything if I don't know what the problem is.

max is not an option to me because of its price and you know, blender is the future :) I am not sure about your statement since I am pretty happy using the exporter. And fixes are coming shortly as well.

In what way is this post helpful in the support forum for the plugin? If you have problems or have found bugs, the explain and report them so that the author of the plugin can look into it and possibly make fixes or improvements.

Hey Vitus,
is there a plugin only for scenery files or is there an airplane to export? Because I currently have problems so that no .bin files are exported and my gltf is supposedly empty despite 1.9mb:scratchch :D

Let me just leave this here:

I hope that helps!

Hey there guys. Been trying this for 2 days already but my glass still refuses to work, it's... opaque. Here are 2 shots of my model in sim/in blender with properties.
P.S. Quick tip - export vertex colors, too. Sometimes I have weird normals if I don't export those, whicih is not mentioned in the export settings guide "to get things done"

Yes, I still have the same problem. Have tried many various setttings but unfortunately so far no luck...

Has anyone else had trouble doing ProjectedMeshes?

I attached my settings:

And here's an example video:

Quick FYI:
You can actually use any image format for your textures within Blender. The Exporter will convert all textures to PNG - provided you're using the "glTF separate" format, as you should. This even works with photoshop files!

Seems to be an SDK bug from what I've seen. If I rebuild and reload the sim with the updated scenery then projected meshes work just fine for me. It's only in the editor that it acts a little screwy.

@UnitedExpress What do you mean? If you leave the mesh down where it's supposed to be then save it, then restart the whole sim it works?
