• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.

MSFS20 Missing jetway connectors...

I'm excited to get started editing with the beta ADE for MS2020. I thought I would start small and simply edit the stock KMSP to assign gates to airlines. I compiled the project and made sure it was in the Community folder. Then, using AIG traffic, that seemed to work as the appropriate airlines were where they should be but the jetway connectors disappeared. The moving part of the jetways were still there but the portion that connects them to the terminals was missing. The only thing I did to the original file was edit the gate information in the parking list tool and recompiled.
 
What specific version of ADE 2020 are you using?
 
So the jetway connectors disappeared from all gates or just the ones you edited? Can you give me a specific example of a gate at the stock KMSP that you changed and how you changed it. That will help me to debug the problem

I have had the same problem with ADE 20 and had to completely delete and redo the jetways. I am now redoing KHSV using Alpha 21 hotfix 2. I loaded the airport from stock and made several changes before I did a build and brought it into MSFS. I noticed that the connectors were missing from every gate. The only thing that I did with the parking at the gates was to make slight realignment of some of the gates but not all of them. I cannot say when the connectors went missing but they are all missing and not just the changed parking at the gates. They may never have been there when the stock airport was loaded into ADE. BTW: I found a way to upgrade airports that I had in ADE 17 by loading the airport into ADE 21, selecting all of the items (such as taxiway signs), Select in Display, Copy Objects, open the newly created airport from stock, Paste Objects and then carefully move all of them all at once into the proper position. You can do the same with other things in the Lists.

Thanks for the feedback. I am not sure what is going on. The jetway connectors are library objects and the mobile end is a sim object. I have replicated the connectors going missing but the code seems to suggest that they are present in the source and bgl generated by ADE but just not showing up. We changed the decompiler for Alpha 21 which did have a problem of not finding the connectors. That has been fixed in Alpha 21 HF2

It may take a while to understand what is going on and going wrong but I am looking at it now
 
Thanks, Jon. I can confirm that the connectors are present in ADE but not in the sim. The only changes I made in the stock KMSP were airline gate assignments. For example, I would open "Lists" and then "Parking" and then input the airline codes. When I was finished, I hit build and the new file appeared in my Community folder. After restarting the sim the gates were properly assigned but the connectors went missing. To confirm, I removed the file, restarted the sim and the connectors reappeared. I changed most of the gates, including every gate "D" at terminal 1. I'll have to check if unedited gates were affected.
 
I don't think it's anything to do with you making changes. I think if you just load the stock airport, build it, put it in your community folder and open the airport in sim the connectors will be gone.
 
I think you've found a bug in the sim. Just adding a taxiwayParking and jetway crashes the sim for me.
 
I notice that the jetway connectors for my KCRP project (those I added with ADE20) appear and disappear randomly when I load an aircraft at that location. Something funky is going on with the platform. Gee, what a surprise.
 
Thanks everybody for looking into this. By "teleporting" do you mean going back to the World Map and choosing a different airport and loading in and then returning to the World Map and choosing the first airport or do you mean something else like slewing away and back?
 
Devmode teleport window. I don't get consistent success with this. It's a bug in the sim, and I think Asobo believes it's fixed.
 
The same problem after SU7 update. Jetway Link objects do not show in DevMode. They seem to be OK after compiled and in the Community folder.

OK - I am updating MSFS (Store and Steam) along with the SDK over the weekend and will run some tests
 
I am getting the links missing in Dev Mode and in the sim. Decompiling the bgl created by ADE shows the links to be as expected so I am moving on from this as an Asobo bug until something changes
 
I have found that jetways newly created by ADE show the link in Dev Mode and in Sim. However trying to edit anything in Dev Mode causes a CTD.
 
I have the same problem. I tried to change the radius/assign airline codes and the connectors disappear at both default JFK and Dubai. It kind of sucks because I need to change gates at Dubai to 40 radius so a380 from AIG can show up. Is there any workaround or this simply cannot be done at the moment? I am afraid that it’s a lost cause right now based on the comments above.
