• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Bug report for version 21

For immediate post without ENTER there are numerous cases (i.e. change value and go to another control with mouse), like changing the parking spot size, taxiway width, etc. Usually ENTER does the trick but I have found in some cases it does not. I think one is Airport test radius but I'll take a...

    Another taxiwaysign question

Doug, may I ask, where or how one can find the master taxiway sign? Decompile the airport and find the first mentioned taxiway sign?

    Bug report for version 21

No need to be locked, it can happen with unlocked nodes too  And usually it makes a new taxiway or whatever and the second node is placed over ARP (at least in my case).

    Bug report for version 21

Okay, let's see... 1. background image - okay, You know it allready 2. exclude rectangles: they just build up in the saved XML; yesterday when I have downgraded the airport from FSX to FS2004, I counted more than 40 excludes where there were only 13 or so distinct ones 3. changing the value in...

To-do request list aka Some features that could be useful

Another feature: boundaries, if possible? The reason is that on LJLJ from the begining of the july, we got the ground ATC which covers only the main apron. I guess with boundary I can limit the ATC to cover only the main apron. One feature that would many designers like but I guess very hard to...

    Background images

Okay Russell! If You need a sample airport to test, send me an email and You'll be happy owner of a sample airport with background images :D Anyway, size of the pictures probably is not a problem with image rotation?

    Background images

Now it seems I have succeded with inserting small background image :) But!!! On the bigger zoom it looks okay, as soon as the airport is is on a default zoom, then background is slightly rotated and becomes unusable :( Is this a (known) bug ?

    Background images

To continue with the theme. I am unable to import the background image in any way in FSX Planner. I used Global Mapper together with our national agency for terrestrial research to determine coordinates of the corners of the image. I have firstly tried to import the image with size approx...

    Compiling Errors

Agreed on that Russell! I saw MS is having more than one airport in one XML but usually a designer only corrects one airport, not the whole bunch of airports in one single BGL. So I do agree with You on the last paragraph too :) And one thing that should concern all of us, designers. There...

    Background images

Hi Rusell! Yes, this is is the image from orthophoto image of larger area around LJLJ; the TIFF itself has 70+ MB, LZW coded. I extracted the necessary part and saved it in JPG. Haven't downgraded DPI yet but definitely I'll do it, otherwise I'll split the image into few parts :) Regarding...

To-do request list aka Some features that could be useful

Emm, that seems to be impossible to be done with FSXP, unfortunatelly :( I've read that this type of exclusion is now in domain of shapes and polys, in other words, try SBuilderX, You can get it from Avsim's library...

    Approaches

I have troubles with them too but as I found browsing and searching the forum yesterday, Jim Ville (jville) is the best man that can help here. Try for start searching the forum with approach and arinc, and also on the user jville. Although I wouldn' mind having some nice graphical tool for...

    Compiling Errors

Question is the same as in post: http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5896 Also I have noticed a lot of <Airport> tags in one XML file. Why?

    Compling Error

Do You compile with BGLCOMP.EXE together with appropriate BGLCOMP.XSD from FS X SP1 or without it, maybe even with FS9 BGLCOMP? Direct compilation from FSX Planner is support through BGLCOMP from FS X SP1 SDK only, otherwise You have to manually correct the file and eliminate not supported...

    Background images

I don't think so but I would include a link to the file as a comment so it won't mess up with BGLCOMP. Argh, I really do hate this folder!!! It is so deeply burried somewhere in the system and since I have Total Commander allready opened in the same folder as source of my project, I would...
