• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    P3D v4 Ground friction

for anyone wishing to play with 5.3HF1.1, the SIM1.dll bytes start at 0x0015d250

    P3D v4 Ground friction

5.2 bytes start at 0015d460 And these are the values I use with my modified airfiles 1506 to get accurate idle thrust/FB/breakaway thrust

FS2004 How to modify the fuel flow on idle ?

Sim1.dll does not contain any TSFC values to my knowledge. What I am describing is that because the sim physics for ground friction have been screwed for years, this in turn screws your fuel burn because it's linked to thrust. TSFC scales your thrust but because of the friction issue your...

iFly 747-8 High Altitude Airport Performance

Start here https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/resources/fs-thrust-vs-altitude-calculations.43/ Once fully understood, come back to this thread Difficult to isolate a problem but my money will be on 1507 and inlet size assuming 1506 is accurate

FS2004 How to modify the fuel flow on idle ?

as stated- You will never be able to set the correct FF for idle thrust and get accurate N1 breakaway settings because of the ridiculous legacy values for rolling friction coefficients in sim1.dll. You have to set a high FN value at mach 0 for the low idle to overcome the friction, this results...

Is it possible to have a 1 minute start up time?

I think starter time to ignition is hard coded in sim1.dll? Ignition to idle lives in 1505

Airliner touchdown sounds based on G load

Hi Something that has always bothered me with the sim, if I perform a heavy landing, it never sounds heavy! I recently had the joy of flying the BA 777ER sim over at Heathrow engineering, I undertook loads of landings, some were greasers, some dropped onto the runway like a sack of potatoes. I...

Lowering Aileron Effect / Performance at slower speeds?

Sorry to hijack a thread! but a slightly relevant question in reverse I am building a 777ER airfile. From my sim experience I recorded how twitchy the aircraft was in roll, I was overcontrolling it to start off with and I add that I am a GA PPL flyer! My base 777 airfile is extremeley benign...

Jet engine design: drag....questions from my inbox

Thanks very much for that, has helped a great deal and there is a lot of information in there to digest, hence my post edit! I originally tried to set my 1506 and 1507 up using Roys masterpiece, but trying to model a large turbofan was difficult, mainly because I couldn't get enginesim to agree...

    EGT table 540

The gauges are on a network PC which reads sim variables via widefs. So I need the external program to ignore fsim variables and read its own corrected table. I have contacted the author

    EGT table 540

Thanks Tom, so when you say write your own table, is that done in simconnect or a gauge? trouble for me is that I dont use a panel with my airfile as I use simavionics 777 suite, this software reports on the sim variables.

    EGT table 540

tried that, reduced the max to 1700 and then set the scale to 1.5, it only seems to affect the high end ie I get the correct max but the idle still sits at 650c so I guess its choose to have one correct value only

    EGT table 540

Hi Trying to get my GE90 to have an idle EGT of around 440c with a max temp of 1004c, understand that EGT is just eye candy and doesnt affect anything else I have set 2300 rankine as the max EGT but this gives me an idle around 650C, top end I am getting the 1000c area. It seems the only way I...

    Table 1505

On the P3d feature request forum, WarpD asked for a controllable spool rate. Mike Schroeter responded with A previously undocumented capability is to configure your fuel_flow_gain in the aircraft.cfg to be a function of engine speed (N2 for straight turbines, N1 for turboprops). It might look...
