• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello there. Even tho MSFS2020 already comes with 3D Grass. Which is the most efficient way to make 3D Grass in P3D/Xplane 11? Planes rotate at 90'?? Thx

MSFS20 Is there a way to get Rid of Noise Texture on Projected Mesh?

That's exactly what i have been doing for the past few days. Working with 3d models for markings and small stuff and using 0.01mm (sim tool).

MSFS20 Is there a way to get Rid of Noise Texture on Projected Mesh?

That was a nice writing. What about custom painted lines or textures?. I'm getting jaggy edges no matter what i do or resolution i try.

Only Asphalt or Concrete are the only ones working at the moment.

P3D v5 (VGHS) Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for P3D/MSFS

Really nice. Are you working with ground polys? Or Aprons + Painted Lines? If so...custom textures? are you getting any jaggy edges when using your own painted line textures?

MSFS20 Custom Painted Lines - Jaggy Edges

Has anyone managed to make a proper Custom Painted Line?. I followed a tutorial on youtube. which pretty much takes the original TaxiLine file, so you can modified it at will or start from scratch..but even tho using simple methods i always get jagged lines when i build it in the sim. Anyone...

EGCB - City Airport (Barton Aerodrome, Manchester UK)

You can use UDIM's. Which is pretty much multiple UV's (up to 100?) for the same 3d Model. For example. You want one specific face of your 3d model to be 2048x2048 and the other small parts to be less or higher or whatever. You can achieve that with UDIM's.

EGCB - City Airport (Barton Aerodrome, Manchester UK)

I'm usually use an AO map baked in Blender or SP, just so i know where textures should go. This is a final work that i did in an Hangar using that method.

MSFS20 Working on KSOW work-in-progress thread

Really nice. As far as i know curved wont work on the sim...i usually have to convert them to Mesh to make it show in the sim. Unless you have a trick around?

Really nice. Are you making your Textures sheets based off your Baked AO map? or just a generic one to later use on Blender??

MSFS20 How to make a Material Editor Comp Texture?

Tried the following…but didnt work so far. Already tried to do it as follows: New 2048x2048 image created in photosho : R Channel: Black G Channel: Original G Channel from Normal Map. B: Pasted Roughness Map A: Create an Alpha Channel. And Pasted Original B Channel from Normal Map. Albedo...

MSFS20 Ground polys - Taxi Lines

Thx for your reply. You still think is the best way to go?. still the best for service roads, pedestrian markings, etc?. I've been trying to use Sim tools, and for some reason i found it super clunky when you need to draw lots of painted lines (edge service, dashed, white, yellow, pedestrian, etc)

MSFS20 Ground polys - Taxi Lines

Has anyone managed to get a good resolution on Taxi Lines using Ground Polys? Even tho i tried 512x512 like a lot of people right here suggests. I still get a bad anti-aliasing implementation. Which i do not see on any other big payware airports. What's the usual approach nowadays?. Apron +...

MSFS20 Painted lines - taxi, edge lines, etc - can we create a custom texture sheet for custom lines?

Regarding Texture quality between Projected Mesh vs Apron, nowadays since the last patch it seems the same. So my approach is going to be Projected Mesh for the apron + Painted Lines with IN-Sim Tools.

MSFS20 Painted lines - taxi, edge lines, etc - can we create a custom texture sheet for custom lines?

I use ground polys with Projected Mesh in the sim, but still cannot get good resolution in the taxi lines.
