• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    Thanks, actually I did just that. It's very inelegant, but it worked. I have 2 simobject groups in the editor now, and both objects are in the list and are working... There should be a way to put multiple simobjects in one group. But I couldn't find any...

    Can you do an experiment and put another model in Simobjects? I.e. make another flag, or something, and put it together, and see if it's created in package and appears in the list. I don't know what else to try...

    Oh, and corrugated metal PBR material? I don't think it's in Extreme PBR, as it uses textures from c00 and it's not one of those... I've been looking for one like that... The one with the sun glare.

    Ah, so you still do baking. What size are you using for baked textures? I found out that 4096x4096 is the only one that has a good enough quality. I settled on doing just Albedo and Normal, and I just use sliders for metallic/roughness/sheen etc. Didn't want to use too much large texture files...

    Interesting. I was thinking about doing PBR instead of baked-in albedo and normal 4K testure. with texture painting. So no baking then? How would you handle all the dirt and stains near the roof etc.? It would look too "clean" if it's all just PBR textures. Baking 4K textures takes a lot of time...

    can you elaborate about what exactly do you mean by glass overlay? Is it a plane or face on top of another face with the behin the glass texture? How exactly do you structure object for windows?
