• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    P3D v2 V2.5 Flickering Glass...?

Alright, so in the end it DID turn out to be a non-compliant material on the other side of the glass. I created a new glass material with exactly the same settings as the SDK and applied 2 separate FSX materials to the exterior-interior model, since that part itself consisted of over 110,000...

    P3D v2 V2.5 Flickering Glass...?

I was just messing around with material settings on a test teapot and there were no issues with that...very strange. Also it seems as if the Blinn Opacity actually affects material transparency in the P3D now (or has FSX been doing this all along? I've never been able to set transparency in FSX...

    P3D v2 V2.5 Flickering Glass...?

I tried using the "Double Sided" option but to no avail (The exterior glass is only a single sided mesh.) I will keep trying different things...

    P3D v2 V2.5 Flickering Glass...?

Welp, it turns out that applying an FSX material to objects behind the glass does not solve any problems. :( What else could be causing this?

    P3D v2 V2.5 Flickering Glass...?

I thought has sprung into my head...Since whatever is being displayed on the other side of this "glass" Doesn't have a textured FSX material applied to it yet, maybe the draw order is getting messed up somewhere along the way...because between flickers I could see objects on the other side of...

    P3D v2 V2.5 Flickering Glass...?

Has anyone else had the issue of their glass material incessantly flickering in the sim? I've tried all different material settings, then restarting from scratch with both the material and bitmap, and nothing seems to work. Then I thought that it must be a graphics driver issue, but...

    P3D v2 Bombardier Challenger 605

I could...The only problem is that for some inexplicable reason, interior models simply stopped displaying in that old version and I never figured out why. Originally it was supposed to have Richie Schwertfeger's Global Express cockpit but it too refused to show up. It worked fine in conjunction...

    Just downloaded Prepar3D V2 Academic...WOW.

Awesome. Didn't know about the 60-day free upgrade period.

    P3D v2 Bombardier Challenger 605

Your assumptions are correct...These "2" projects are indeed one in the same. Systems are planned to be on par or even deeper than past Eaglesoft products, so you can expect a similar high-quality simulation experience to their other aircraft. I'm not much of a systems expert, but from what I...

    P3D v2 Bombardier Challenger 605

Texturing is underway on both the interior and exterior models. So far, that's all I can say. I've been EXTREMELY busy with other things lately.

    Just downloaded Prepar3D V2 Academic...WOW.

...Once again, I'm way behind the times. :( Also, I thought that upgrades were free after you purchase a license. That must only apply to patches but not major releases...DRAT. How would one go about requesting a refund? Not that I'm unhappy with V2.5, but if there's anything...

    Just downloaded Prepar3D V2 Academic...WOW.

In the minuscule amount of free time that I have--between college, work, eating and bathing--I decided that 60 dollars was burning a hole in my pocket (not really) and pulled the trigger on P3D Academic. I know I'm a little late jumping on the P3D train, but I suddenly felt the urge to tell as...

FSX Animation for nose gear steer

Also make sure that it's a (linear) clockwise rotation from frames 0-200.

FSXA Orbit Airlines JetXpress CRJ700 Repaint

I remember when I first got FSX on the Christmas of 2006 (coming from FS98) and marveling at how awesome the Orbit Airlines jets looked. I even thought it was a real airline for a while...:rotfl:Later, a Google search proved that my hopes had been crushed. :(

    P3D v2 Bombardier Challenger 605

Yeah, I think those twisters touched down pretty far northeast of where I live (Peoria) so our weather wasn't too bad last night. Most of the time, we hear about tornadoes more to the west but lately we've had some deadly ones east of the river like the one that wrecked Washington...2 years ago...

    P3D v2 Bombardier Challenger 605

Gman, you stole the words right out of my mouth (I mean, off my keyboard of course.) Unfortunately this project just hasn't been my priority in life as of late, so it's taking the back seat until I can find some time to work on it. Add my new job at the local grocery store to help pay for...

    Question from a news story

Looks like we won't be seeing an accurate F-35 simulation for another 20 years then. ;)

    Fokker 100

Nice job sculpting that T-tail! I always find those extremely difficult to make a base mesh for.

    G159

Great textures! They would look even better with some more forced AA in the Nvidia settings.

FSXA Cubed maps in DDS format

Glad you got it working! It's amazing what can be achieved by experimenting with cube maps in FS.
