• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

    P3D v5 Open links recurring

I have seen this issue with recurring open links in a couple of other airports now. One of them I just left to simmer until I came upon a solution for it, the other one I decided to try something on a whim, just to see what would happen. Sometimes there appears like a tip of an arrow coming out...

ADE Now Free for Personal and Commercial Use

Like the famous U.S. Cavalry in the movies, Gary comes gallopping in from stage right with the missing solution. And it even worked perfectly, just like before! But unlike before, this time I printed the solution out for my files... which I should have done in the first place, forgetting what...

ADE Now Free for Personal and Commercial Use

I had to re-install ADE, and got the above Prokey issue again. But now it seems that the "screenstepslive" link is no longer working, I am directed to log in to screensteps. Does anyone have a working link, or can anyone tell me how to mark the above-mentio0ned files to unblock them? Thanks...

P3D v5 Two "failure to compile" issues

Thanks for the tips, Tom! #1 was easy enough, the offending helipad was removed and the airport compiled OK. #2 proved to be easy also, but it didn't work quite the way you described - in List/Taxi Links, there was no Index Number heading in my version of ADE. However, in the column headed...

P3D v5 Two "failure to compile" issues

Using the latest development version 4.79 with Prokey, I have 2 issues that cause ADE not to compile. This happens with some FSX airports I got from avsim.su and that I am trying to convert to P3D v. 5. The first is caused by a helipad present with a latitude outside the permitted range of -90...

    P3D v5 Open links recurring

What I did was open the AFCAD bgl, then save it to an ad4 and then worked on that, only compiling to bgl when finished. Jorgen

    P3D v5 Open links recurring

I think I solved the issue - at least it went away! In this particular AFCAD, there was a link in the center of all the parking spots, with a path leading to it. I removed all of those links (over 100) and replaced them with normal parking paths. The parking list was also messed up, a bunch of...

    P3D v5 Open links recurring

Now, that is interesting... I got this airfield as 3 files - AFCAD, CVX and OBJ, all bgls. Would one way around this be opening the AFCAD, then saving it as an ad4 and working on that? Jorgen

    P3D v5 Open links recurring

I am currently working on an airfield, originally made for P3D v. 4, to make it work in P3D v. 5. I am using ADE 4.79 Dev - the latest, with the ProKey. The issue is that this airfield has a lot of open links reported in Fault Finder, in for example taxiways. To "repair" those, I thought the...

AIFP starting and then spins its wheels

Problem found and eliminated. An installer assumed that I would have my scenery entries in their default location, and put corresponding entries in my scenery.cfg. But in my installation they go somewhere else... Lorby's P3D Addon Organizer was an invaluable help in solving this issue. Jorgen

AIFP starting and then spins its wheels

Apparently not a corrupted AI aircraft file. Even with all aircraft moved out of the reach of AIFP, it exhibits the same behavior. Now I am starting to pull my (remaining) hair out... Jorgen Edit: and I can't spell....

AIFP starting and then spins its wheels

My "suspicion" at this point is maybe a corrupted AI aircraft file, so ATM I am checking those. That will take a little while, because I have a lot of them... Jorgen

AIFP starting and then spins its wheels

This weekend I started having an issue with AIFP that has left me scratching my head. Last I used AIFP was Wednesday last week, and then it worked just fine. When I started it today, it did as it normally does, scanning P3D v. 5 for files and showing the screen that Don's site is offline. I...

P3D v5 Old topic - remove trees from airport

Tom, I could have sworn that in the thread mentioned above, it was what it said to do. As you suggested, I tried the polygon button instead, and now things work - I don't try to run down trees on the runways when I try to take off from EGQS and KCOS. Thanks much - Jorgen

P3D v5 Old topic - remove trees from airport

I am not sure what you mean here, Jon. I have tried various ways of making it. Tried to finish the polygon by placing the end of the last line of the polygon (I assume that is what you mean by vertex) on the start of the first line, tried to make the beginning of the first line and the end of...
